Our Story

How Bella's Came to Be

Hi, I’m Angela — and the story of Bella’s began about nine years ago, when I brought home my very first doodle: a beautiful labradoodle named Bella.

Bella was extraordinary. She had those soulful eyes that seemed to look right into your heart. She was the kind of dog that leaves a permanent imprint on your soul — a once-in-a-lifetime companion. Not long after Bella joined our family, my eldest son brought home a Labrador puppy named Tucker. They grew up together, thick as thieves.

As time went on, we knew we’d soon need to have them both fixed — but life had other plans. Before we could make that appointment, we found out Bella was expecting. I was terrified — my baby was having babies. But with the support of my husband, we helped Bella through a safe and healthy delivery. I’ll never forget that day. Every puppy found a loving forever home, and I assumed that would be the end of our unexpected adventure.

But something changed. The messages started coming in:
“When are you going to have another litter?”
I didn’t think much of it at the time. Life went on.

Then, everything shifted. My eldest graduated and moved away, and I found myself slipping into a period of sadness and emptiness. Through it all, Bella was my constant — my comfort and my light.

Until one day… she was gone.

We lived in the country, and it was normal for Bella, Tucker, and Cooper (one of Bella’s puppies we’d kept) to run and play outside. But that day, when I called them back in, Bella didn’t return. I searched everywhere — yelling, crying, hiking through the ravine. I posted online, contacted rescues, made flyers, reached out to psychics. I did everything I could to bring my girl home.

But she never came back.

The grief was unbearable. With my child gone off into the world and my soul dog suddenly missing, I was left with a hole I didn’t know how to fill.

And yet, slowly, healing came. I realized something powerful: Bella changed me. She taught me what it truly means to love a dog — to be changed by one. Her love, her light, and her spirit gave me purpose, and I knew I had to share that gift with others.

So I decided to honor her in the best way I could. I brought home a new puppy — a sweet, spirited goldendoodle named Lexi. And with her, the next chapter of Bella’s began.

At Bella’s House of Doodles, our mission is simple: to raise puppies that bring the same joy, love, and deep connection that Bella brought to me. Every puppy we raise is a tribute to her legacy — and a promise to you, that you’re not just getting a dog, but a new soul to love.
